Important Information for teachers about Tuition Tax Credit: There has been a shift in support of the Tuition Tax credit. RCM, CC and CFMTA have now distanced themselves from this issue. Since there is no apparent consensus in legal or accoutancy circles regarding the validity of this claim, ORTMA will follow the examples of the RCM, CC and CFMTA, and will discontinue encouraging teachers to offer the receipts.

ORMTA's adviser at CFMTA suggests that teachers, if they choose, may continue to provide the Tuition Tax receipts. Students/parents, if they choose may continue to submit the receipts. However, there are no guarantees that the claims will be successful.

Developing London’s new Culture Plan… you’re invited

 Register at: http://londoncultureplan.eventbrite.ca/

Culture, in all its dimensions, is a fundamental ingredient of sustainable development. As a sector of activity, through tangible and intangible heritage, creative industries, talent of all ages and diversity, and various forms of artistic expressions, culture is a powerful contributor to our quality of life and the economic prosperity of our city. As a repository of knowledge, meanings and values that permeate all aspects of our lives, culture also defines the way people live and interact within our community.

 Dear London Arts Community,

It is our belief that with your participation, London’s new Cultural Prosperity Plan has the capacity to broaden
understanding and collaborations, enhance London’s continued evolution as a leading community in Canada for cultural workers to live, incubate new ideas, and deliver culture to all facets of our community.

London’s Cultural Prosperity Plan will identify current and future priorities for strengthening the cultural sector that, in turn, provide opportunity for an increased quality of life and experience for residents and visitors.

Development of the plan is a collaborative undertaking which includes community engagement aimed at generating a shared cultural vision for our City. How did we get here? Building on the foundation provides an overview of the background to this initiative.

The London Arts Council is asking that you, your organization, your volunteers and supporters participate in the planning of our Cultural future by attending the
community consultation session on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012.

Please register at
http://londoncultureplan.eventbrite.ca/ I look forward to seeing you there.

Warm regards,

Andrea Halwa, Executive Director

London Arts Council
